Gogh Gogh Dancer
Created for Caza Sikes Gallery's opening show, Riffing Van Gogh, Gogh Gogh Dancer came together to honor three of Vincent Van Gogh's paintings. The skirt was created from a neighbor's down tree, sea shell pieces, polymer clay and ceramic tile, and represents Van Gogh's, Blossoming Almond Tree. Gogh Gogh Dancer's bodice exterior represents my take on Wheat Field with Lark, and is a mosaic of ceramic tile and millifiori. Most identifiable of Van Gogh's works, Starry Night, is both painted inside the interior of the bodice, and the village is constructed of wood and epoxy clay medium, then painted. Size: 5'x3.5'x3.5' This pieced was awarded Best in Show at Riffing Van Gogh, a juried exhibition at Caza Sikes. |
